HoMa's World of Bricks ...

    InterCityNight

The Talgo Waggons

The InterCityNight is a realy seen train in Germany. The Talgo sleeping cars are fixed together and the have a shared 1-axle truck. Building a working 1-axle truck for the LEGO® tracks is a real challenge. It took quite a time to find out, how it might work in LEGO®.

The next challenge were the tight couppling of the sleeping cars. But no problem for my. I was happy to have some of the "spring elements". As other trainheads, I could solve this problem with this magic brick. The only disadvantage is: The train can only be pulled, not pushed or driven backwards.

The electric engine (BR 101)

The BR 101 are one of the latest electrical engines used by the Deutsche Bahn. Some of them are used as rolling bill board and show nice advertisment on their side walls. "Nett hier. Aber waren Sie schon mal in Baden-Württemberg" means something like "Nice here. But have you ever been to Baden-Württemberg?"

The model of the BR 101 is my first electic engine build in 8-wide. The idea started with the 22° corner slope to model the upper corners of the side walls next to the cabins. SNOT is used all over the side walls and many 2x2 tiles in red were used.
