BR 10

The BR 10 001 from Deutschen Bundesbahn was the last steamer which was introduced in the year 1957. This steamer was used as "high-speed" passengertrain engine along the main north-south conections. Only a few years later the end came for all steamer in Germany and 1968 this engine found a place in a train museum.

The LEGO® model was build in spring 2001 after a pre-version in white was build. Some major parts are just included in the Black Cat Truck (#5571) and I was happy to get this set years after it was officially sold in the shops. Move the mouse over the picture below and see how such a long LEGO® model handles the tight curves and points.

The engine is powered by two 9V motors located in the tender. The aluminum rims fit exactly on the old spoked wheels and were produced by Stefan Vorst. For further information and availability please contact him at stv@fgan.de

BR 101

The BR 101 are one of the latest electrical engines used by the Deutsche Bahn. Some of them are used as rolling bill board and show nice advertisment on their side walls. "Nett hier. Aber waren Sie schon mal in Baden-Württemberg" means something like "Nice here. But have you ever been to Baden-Württemberg?"

The model of the BR 101 is my first electic engine build in 8-wide. The idea started with the 22° corner slope to model the upper corners of the side walls next to the cabins. SNOT is used all over the side walls and many 2x2 tiles in red were used.

Desert Express Engine (General Electric ??)

I have no further information about the diesel engine which pulls the Desert Express through Namibia. Das LEGO® model has no motors because the engine got 3-wheeled trucks. The motors are based underneath the first passenger coach. The middle axle of the two trucks of the engine may move sidewards while the engine runs through curves. [picture] Again, this is an 8-wide model ;-)

Industry Engine

Such diesel engines are used in large industial sides and are mostly run by private companies. My model is orientated at Andreas Bürgel's version in yellow/green. I tryed to build this engine without any visible studs – so quite a few people asked: "Is the really LEGO®?"
